Q: What is India’s biggest opportunity in AI?
“Building for India and the world. We have the chance to lead in responsible AI — AI that’s inclusive, multilingual, and culturally aware. Western AI is biased toward English and Western contexts. We can build AI that serves humanity in all its diversity.”
Q: What are the risks?
“Brain drain, regulatory uncertainty, and underinvestment in research. We must retain our top talent, provide regulatory clarity, and invest much more in basic AI research. Industry and government must collaborate.”
Q: Your message to young Indians?
“This is your time. Don’t be intimidated by AI; learn it, master it, build with it. The leaders of the next decade are being shaped right now.”
